Today was a day just like any other... except it wasn't.

So. This morning, when I woke up, I knew that today was just a day. I was happy because my friends and I who compiled the clique list were going to have a picnic, and my friend Lisa from Germany was visiting the school today. =]  So I got out of bed, dressed, and got a  phone call from Murphy saying that she missed the bus, could I go get her? Of course I could, so I hurried my sister and Brooklyn into the car, and away we went. We arrive at Murphys a little late. I am stickler for being on time, so this was like "Gah" for me.  So I am backing out of her driveway, and I hit her trash can. Which wasn't my fault, my back window was fogged up and I couldn't see it from my mirrors. So, we start driving down the road, and about a mile away from Murphys, we hear a loud "KerDUNK" noise coming from the back right tire of my car, so I slow down, and Miranda says "Something just hit my butt" and then again, the "KerDUNK" noise. I stop, and my sister opens her door, thinking I had a flat tire. Well, it turns out my sister left the middle seat belt hanging out of my car and we were RUNNING OVER IT. I had to back up off of my seat belt.

This was peachy, eh? Well, by this time, we are just late for school, and we know it, and we're three miles out of town in the country. So we decide to take a gravel road thats a short cut. I hate driving on gravel roads. So Murphy and I switch seats. We get to school, and walk into the office. We begin to tell Mrs. Theresa, the secretary, our story. She simply picks her hand up and says "Just get to class". We didn't argue. =]

Today, also, was the day that the yearbook was supposed to have 32 pages of the year book done.  We had 11. So we were running around all day, trying to get ANYTHING at all possible done. Needless to say, we didn't get much done. I took alot of pictures and got to boss people around, though, so I didn't mind. =] And Lisa was with me all day, which was definitely a plus! XD

Then, it was lunch time. Lunch time meant picnic time. That was a blast! XD

This would be utterly amazing. If I could make a snail grow into a super snail that I could ride, I think this day might suck a little less. It's raining. I'm bored. And I am also complaining. I went to the mall yesterday, with my friends Brooklyn and Jarred, who call each other Bridge and Steve.  We had a fun time.  =]  Brook and I picked out our prom dresses and all that jazz.  Whilst we were in Hot Topic, I saw a t-shirt that had a picture of a hamburger and a hot dog on it, and the thought bubble on the hamburger said "Mooo".  Hamburgers are made of beef.  Ham is pork. I was appalled at this revelation. Why would they name a hamburger a hamburger instead of a beefburger or something like that.  This prompted me to research the origin of the name, hamburger. This is what I found:

"WORD HISTORY   Because the world has eaten countless hamburgers, the origins of the name may be of interest to many. By the middle of the 19th century people in the port city of Hamburg, Germany, enjoyed a form of pounded beef called Hamburg steak. The large numbers of Germans who migrated to North America during this time probably brought the dish and its name along with them. The entrée may have appeared on an American menu as early as 1836, although the first recorded use of Hamburg steak is not found until 1884. The variant form hamburger steak, using the German adjective Hamburger meaning “from Hamburg,” first appears in a Walla Walla, Washington, newspaper in 1889. By 1902 we find the first description of a Hamburg steak close to our conception of the hamburger, namely a recipe calling for ground beef mixed with onion and pepper. By then the hamburger was on its way, to be followed—much later—by the shortened form burger, used in forming cheeseburger and the names of other variations on the basic burger, as well as on its own."

On another note, yesterday was April Fools Day. I am a horrible pranker. I am not a funny person at all.   Therefore, I did not attempt to prank anyone. I did get myself fooled twice, though, once by my BFF Jessica who decided to tell me her sister was prego, and once by Sylvester, the guy Im intrested in, telling me he might get kicked out of college. Yeah. The first was funny. The second, not so much.

  • Nouvelle Orleans.

Yesterday, I went to New Orleans with my French Club. We got to do all sorts of neat things.  Two hour walking tour of the French Quarter, the Aquarium of the Americas, IMAX Theater, Audobon Zoo! It was, all in all quite jolly. I got to hang out with my friends, who will be graduating in May just like me.It was hot and muggy and humid. All that walking made my feet hurt, and now my legs are killing me, but it was all totally worth it! XD And I got to wear my cute tutu, so everythings cool. XD

  • Snails.

    ksnail0001

I love snails. Seriously. I think they are the cutest little things. I developed a fascination for them over the summer when I was in Nova Scotia at a French Immersion program. I would go to the beach while the tide was out, walk out onto the rocks and whisper to the snails in English. =]  No, I'm not crazy, but the snails were just so darn cute.
